IRENE SMIT, VICE PRESIDENT

My volunteerism on the North Bay Real Estate Board has spanned over 7 years and was nominated as President in 2009. As an instructor with the Ontario Real Estate College, I value education as the primary experience gained in life. The learning outcomes obtained through volunteerism at the Chamber of Commerce are invaluable and I believe in giving back by contributing to its growth and success.

SUSAN RAY, VICE PRESIDENT

Currently General Manager of the Clarion Resort Pinewood Park, I have had the pleasure of working to provide excellent hospitality to our guests in the North Bay area since the age of 9. My parents provided an early start for my hospitality career on the shores of Lake Nipissing at Hainscott Motor Court and when they sold the business my work at Pinewood Park Inn began! Having the opportunity to work in every area of our diverse resort has provided me with invaluable experience and a passion for providing guests with excellent service, every time. There have been many memorable events that we’ve hosted at the Clarion Resort Pinewood Park that have tested the limits of my commitment, organization skills and proven my work ethic including: Rotary Convention under the tent on our golf course – 500 people, Trojan Reunion at Memorial Gardens – 1,200 people and the Liberal Caucus with Jean Chretien here at the Clarion Resort Pinewood Park. I am very excited to make more of these memories with the help of our incredible staff. I am married with two sons.   My husband, who works for Gordon Food Services, was awarded 30 Years of Service in November 2010. We are happy to call North Bay home and we welcome new comers and visitors alike to experience our incredible city!

CHARLES ELLIOTT, TREASURER

I am proud to say I have been working with TD Canada Trust for the past 26 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I moved to North Bay with the bank for a 2 year commitment, this was in the fall of 1991 and have been here every since. I love North Bay. I moved into the role of Branch Manager at the North Bay Mall in 1994 and then in 2005 moved downtown to manage the Main St. branch. My first commitment is to my children; Spencer, Brad & Taylor. I have been involved with the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce since 1995 as a Director and Chair of the Membership and Economic Development Committees and now currently Treasurer. This Chamber is one of the largest and most active in Ontario and I am proud to be a part of it. I believe strongly that "you should treat people how you want to be treated" and specifically when it comes to customer service. The Chamber is the voice of business and I very proud to support this voice in North Bay.

MARK KING, PAST PRESIDENT

Mark is a lifetime resident of North Bay with three children. I hold concern for future generations and have 34 plus years of exposure/involvement in the processes of municipal politics. Mark is the President of H. Freeman & Co., an industrial supply company. He has served on the following boards and organizations: past president of the Chamber of Commerce, chair of the Chamber Tourism and Government Affairs Committee, Trans Canada Trail Pavilion and Snowmobile Advisory Committee; chair of the Tourism Cluster for the Blue Sky Economic Development Corporation (tourism impact study developed and now used as a template for provincial tourism); chair of Discovery Routes; board member of the Laurentian Ski Hill, Hydro Commission, City Planning Board, and ANTA (Treasurer) and Children Aid Society.

PATTI ALCORN-CARR, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

I have been honoured to serve as a Chamber Manager for over 10 years and appreciate the opportunity to do so this coming year. I have been an employee with the Chamber for the past 23 years and I feel I have had the opportunity to be involved in most aspects pertaining to the Chamber and its mandate. I am very excited to move forward in 2012, as the voice of business for North Bay and area and I appreciate the support of the volunteers, members and staff of the Chamber.
