Welcome to the City of North Bay. The three L's are important when dealing with real estate and Location, Location, Location sums up the advantages offered by our Gateway City .
We are situated at the junction of Highway 17 and 11. We are at the junction of the three railroads: CPR, CNR and ONR; and we also have one of the largest airports in Canada thanks to our military ties to North American Air Defense Command.
North Bay is situated between picturesque Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake. We are a full four seasons community boasting skiing and snowmobiling in the winter months, hiking and garden tours in the summer, fall colour tours and hunting, and of course fishing all year round.
Our recently refurbished Downtown is proudly anchored by the Capitol Center; an 1100 seat theatre and art gallery. Neighboring the downtown is our beautiful Lake Nipissing waterfront. Walk along the boardwalk, anchor your boat in the 350-slip marina, or take a cruise on the Chief Commanda. The Waterfront Park is also the home of the annual Summer in the Park and North Rocks the Bay. On the August Holiday weekend our population doubles for this wonderful family event.
Academically we are home to Nipissing University and Canadore College. With their own natural pond, waterfall and miles of hiking trails, these two facilities co-exist on one of the most beautiful campuses found anywhere.
